My Journey
Academic Foundations
I started out in academic research, completing a PhD in Molecular Epidemiology (University of Salford) and an MSc in Post-Genome Science and Bioanalysis (University of Manchester), before going on to postdoctoral work in cell signalling and host–pathogen interactions.
From the Lab to Communication
Realising that life at the bench wasn’t where I wanted to stay, I moved into medical communications, which allowed me to explore my love for narrative – shaping stories from complex science, finding clarity and meaning in data, and helping it connect with the people it’s meant for, from hands-on writing through to broader scientific storytelling.
Scientific Leadership & Strategy
Over time, my role evolved into scientific leadership, building and guiding multidisciplinary teams, shaping strategy across businesses, and overseeing the delivery of high-quality scientific, editorial, and educational programmes.
Independent Practice
Today, I run an independent freelance consultancy, bringing these skills together in practice and working flexibly with organisations to support clear, credible, and impactful communication from strategy through to delivery.

My Approach
Creative, Insight-Led Thinking: I bring a creative, insight-led approach, shaping original scientific narratives that engage audiences and bring complex science to life while remaining rigorous and credible.
People-Focused Collaboration: I take a people-focused approach shaped by years of leadership across medical, editorial, and strategy teams, allowing me to integrate quickly and effectively with internal teams and client partners.
Commercial & Strategic Acumen: I bring strong commercial awareness to my work, applying strategic thinking to support business development through clear positioning, persuasive storytelling, and robust, client-focused pitches and proposals.
Global Perspective: My approach is informed by a truly global perspective, having lived and worked in Asia and delivered programmes across Europe, North America, Central and South America, the Middle East and North Africa, and the Asia–Pacific region.
Flexible, End-to-End Delivery: Flexibility underpins how I work—I am equally comfortable developing abstracts and manuscripts as providing onsite scientific facilitation and meeting support, ensuring continuity and impact across every stage of a programme.
